The principle is basically the same as that of a reluctance type rotary transformer, except that its iron core is divided into two parts: rotor and stator. When it is excited by the AC voltage in the excitation winding, the AC voltage induces in the output winding (stator). Due to the widespread use of its products, the use of angle sensors for rotating bodies such as servo motors is expanding.
